This project is especially close to my heart. Eversleigh Homestead is my own family home—originally built by my great-grandparents and passed down through four generations. Located in rural Queensland, this heritage property holds deep emotional and cultural significance for our family, making its renovation a truly personal journey.
As both the designer and the homeowner, I approached this restoration with the utmost care and intention. Drawing on over 18 years of experience in the building and interior design industry, I blended practical design solutions with the ancient principles of Feng Shui to honour the energy of the land and the lineage it supports.
This soul-led approach is also the foundation of my work at The Environmental Alchemist, where I guide others to create homes that heal, restore, and align with their deeper story.
Throughout the process, I’ve considered everything from doorway alignments and water flow to the subtle balance of chi within each room. Even small shifts—like altering a verandah or moving a key entrance—can transform the way a home feels and functions. Every change here was made mindfully and with reverence for the past.
This renovation isn’t just about restoring an old house—it’s about anchoring the spirit of a home for the generations to come. As the Chinese saying goes, “Heal the family hall, heal the family lineage.” For me, that wisdom has come to life in the walls of Eversleigh.
