New Build Design

Designing a new home is a significant investment, both financially and emotionally. It brings a sense of possibility, but also requires a large number of decisions to be made with clarity from the outset.

My role is to ensure your home is resolved properly before construction begins. Bringing together interior design and environmental alignment, I work with you to refine the layout, function, and key details so the home supports how you want to live day to day.

With over 20 years of experience in the building and design industry, I offer practical guidance throughout the process—from reviewing floor plans through to selecting finishes and resolving key spaces such as kitchens, bathrooms, and living areas.

Architectural plans are reviewed and adjusted where needed, with particular attention given to areas that have the greatest impact on daily living, including circulation and how spaces connect across the home.

Environmental principles, including Feng Shui, are integrated within the planning process. This informs how the home is oriented, how spaces are arranged, and how key elements are positioned—supporting a home that feels balanced and grounded.

Consideration is also given to how the home sits within its site, ensuring it is both practical in its design and well placed within its surroundings.

Early involvement allows for the greatest level of clarity, reducing the need for changes during construction and helping to avoid unnecessary costs.

The result is a home that is clear in its planning, considered in its detail, and easy to live in over time.

Common Questions

When should I start the design process for a new build?
As early as possible. Resolving the layout and preparing a full specification of finishes before construction begins reduces the need for changes later and can help minimise costly builder variations.

Can you review my existing floor plans?
Yes. Plans can be reviewed and refined to improve layout and flow. Designing joinery in detail often highlights small adjustments—such as window placement or proportions—that can significantly improve how the space functions.

Do I need a designer if I’m already working with a builder?
Not always, but it can make a difference. Having one designer across the project creates a clear connection throughout the home. Without that, selecting from multiple sources can lead to a disjointed result.

Let’s create a home that works for your life—and supports how you want to live from the very beginning.
