Renovation Design

Renovating an existing home requires a clear understanding of what is working, what is not, and where meaningful change can be made.

Over time, it’s easy to become accustomed to a space, often overlooking opportunities to improve how it functions and supports daily life. A fresh, considered perspective brings clarity—refining layout, flow, and key areas so the renovation is both practical and well resolved.

With over 20 years of experience in building and design, I work alongside homeowners, builders, and draftspersons to guide this process from the outset. My role is to uncover the potential within your home, resolve how spaces connect, and ensure each area supports how you want to live moving forward.

Particular attention is given to areas that carry the greatest impact, including kitchens, bathrooms, and the overall movement through the home. Even small changes can significantly improve how a space functions when considered as part of the whole.

Environmental principles, including Feng Shui, are integrated within the planning process—informing how spaces are arranged, how key elements are positioned, and how the home can better support those living within it.

Early guidance ensures decisions are made with clarity before work begins, reducing the need for costly changes during construction.

The result is a home that feels more resolved, functions more efficiently, and is easier to live in day to day.

Common Questions

Where do I start with a home renovation?
Start with how the home is currently working and what needs to change. A clear plan early on helps guide layout decisions and avoids costly adjustments later.

Do I need plans before starting a renovation?
Yes. Having a resolved layout and clear documentation allows you to obtain accurate quotes and compare builders properly. With the design completed first, you can choose a builder that aligns with your budget and values.

Can I renovate my home in stages?
In many cases, yes. As long as there is an overall plan in place, staging a renovation can work well and allow changes to be made over time without disrupting the flow of the home.

Let’s create a home that works for your life—and supports how you want to live moving forward.
